A Winter Wonderland Reborn At Haven Frosty Hollows
VENUE ~ Blue Finch
OPENS ~ December 6th
OWNER ~ Ɗíąղղą Ҡίηƙγ Ͼレαυʂ нαяʍօηγ (Dianna Harmony)
There’s something special about winter in Second Life—the way talented creators can turn a blank region into a living, breathing world of magic. This year, I had the rare privilege of receiving a personal pre-opening tour of Blue Finch’s annual Haven Frosty Hollows Experience on the Pottery Hollow sim. What I discovered was nothing short of breathtaking.
Pottery Hollow is more than just a name. It’s a tribute. The sim itself was named after creator Dianna’s mother’s hometown—a talented artist whose memory is honored each season through the sim’s ever-changing redesign. Although she is no longer with us, Dianna continues her legacy through Frosty Hollows, pouring heart, artistry, and imagination into every corner.
A Storybook Entrance
The moment Dianna greeted me at the main entrance, I felt like I had stepped inside a Disney storybook. Snow gently dusted the ground, the air shimmered with winter ambiance, and at the heart of the landing point sat what appeared to be the iconic Polar Express locomotive—faithfully recreated and parked proudly at its station, as if waiting to whisk new arrivals to a land of wonder.

Past the train station, a quaint winter village unfolds. Snow-dusted storefronts line the street, each shop a small scene of its own. Dianna excitedly guided me through the first pathway, pointing out charming details that most visitors might miss—one of many reasons her venues continue to stand among the best in Second Life.

A Tour by Owl-Bear? Only in SL.
Then came one of the most delightful surprises of the tour:
“This is your ride,” Dianna said, gesturing toward what she called an Owl-Bear—a mythical two-seater creature that serves as your guided tour mount. Once seated, it offers multiple tour options and begins a smooth, scenic glide down winding trails and hillsides.

As we traveled deeper into Frosty Hollows, every turn felt like entering a brand-new world. I was honestly at a loss for words. No photo or description could ever fully capture the sheer amount of detail and craftsmanship poured into this sim.
From tucked-away micro-scenes to sweeping winter vistas, the experience felt endless—and I’m absolutely certain I saw only a fraction of what lies beneath the snow-covered canopy.
