POEM
The moon hung heavy over restless seas,
a silver witness to the storm below,
while the wind carried forgotten melodies
only the sleepless heart could know.
Inside a pale blue balloon of light,
I drifted between heaven and tide,
wrapped in whispers of a tumultuous night,
with the ocean’s symphony as my guide.
The waves rose wild against the shore,
their fury crashing in endless refrain,
yet fear could not reach me anymore,
for dreams dissolve the weight of pain.
Sparkles scattered like fallen stars,
spinning softly around my soul,
while music wandered from afar
to mend the pieces not yet whole.
The wind became my dancing partner,
lifting strands of midnight hair,
guiding each graceful turn and falter
through the cold and salted air.
And there beneath the storming skies,
where darkness kissed the sea in blue,
I learned that dreams are where hope survives,
quietly waiting to carry us through.
So if you hear faint music in the tide,
or see moonlight trembling above the foam,
perhaps you’ve glimpsed at the place I hide,
where on tumultuous nights,
I dance in my dreams alone.

Dancing in dreams sounds pretty poetic. Did you have a specific song in mind that inspired this?

Hi Anna
No, I did not have a specific song in mind when I wrote this poem. I just had feelings, and thoughts coming together as they often do when I am having trouble sleeping.
