Can I be honest? I didn’t sit down planning this outfit. It sort of built itself.
I started over at Cold Ash because they’re celebrating their summer sale. It’s running through August 6th, so if anything here catches your eye, you’ve still got a little time. I’m not saying this post is enabling…but I’m also not not saying it.
I’ve always had a soft spot for Cold Ash because they make the kind of clothes I actually end up wearing. You know how sometimes you buy something because it looks incredible in the vendor photo, wear it once, and then it quietly disappears into your inventory forever? Ash’s stuff tends to do the opposite. I keep finding reasons to pull it back out.
Can we talk about this tank for a second?
The SEBASTIAN Tucked Tank doesn’t need to do anything flashy to win me over. It’s clean, relaxed, and the tucked look gives it a little extra polish without making it feel like you’re trying to dress up. It still feels like something I’d throw on every day, and I think that’s why it stuck with me. Sometimes the simplest pieces end up being the ones you wear the most.
Once I had the tank on, the HARTWOOD Linen Trousers felt like the obvious next step. I don’t know what it is about linen, but it always feels right this time of year. There’s something about the texture that makes an outfit feel lighter before you’ve even left the house. They’re relaxed without looking sloppy, and they have that effortless summer look that somehow always comes across as more put together than it has any right to.
The thing I appreciated most was how easy those two pieces played off each other. Neither one is trying to steal the spotlight. They meet somewhere in the middle, and before long you’ve got an outfit that looks like you spent more time planning it than you actually did. I’ll happily take that.
Of course, I couldn’t leave it alone. Once the clothes were sorted out, I started reaching for the little details.
The Nast hat from [Deadwool] was first because, well, I wear hats. Sometimes. This one has become a favorite because it finishes the outfit without completely changing it. You throw it on, glance in the mirror once, and think, “Yep, that’s exactly what it needed.”
The Petite Tuile watch ended up being the same story. I love accessories that don’t have to fight for your attention. Nobody’s first comment is going to be about the watch, but take it away and suddenly something feels missing. Those quiet little details are usually the ones that earn a permanent spot in my wardrobe.
That’s probably why I keep coming back to [Deadwool]. Their accessories don’t feel like one-time purchases. They slowly become part of your everyday wardrobe until you can’t remember what you wore before them.
The only question left was what was going on my feet. I gave sneakers about five seconds of consideration before realizing they weren’t the answer this time.
The Jungle Flip Flops from EQUAL fit the mood much better. By that point the outfit already had this easy, laid-back summer feel, and the flip flops leaned right into it. They’re simple, comfortable, and they tied everything together without asking for any extra attention.
That’s probably my favorite part of this entire look. Nothing feels like it’s competing with anything else. Cold Ash gave me the foundation, [Deadwool] handled the finishing touches, EQUAL rounded everything out, and every piece feels like it belongs there.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m probably going to keep wearing this outfit until something else convinces me otherwise.
