Brings a Little Bit of Everything to MsKatt’s Saloon

When I hear “saloon,” my mind immediately goes to sawdust on the floor, cowboy hats, boots, and a little two-steppin’ across the dance floor.
So when I got an invite to catch a live show by Koko Incognito (you’ve got to love that name!) at MsKatt’s Saloon, I figured I knew pretty much what I was walking into.
Well… I was wrong. And happily so.
Koko Incognito is one of those performers who clearly doesn’t like being put into just one musical box. Her shows can range from Rock and Roll and Country to Jazz and Ballroom, and today’s performance at MsKatt’s was a perfect example of that variety.
The playlist was all over the musical map — in the best possible way.
From upbeat pop and rock to country favorites, classic standards and songs that had me wanting to get up and dance, Koko kept the variety coming. Her repertoire includes everything from Pat Benatar, Fleetwood Mac and The Beatles to Adele, Shania Twain, Bette Midler and Carrie Underwood.
And that’s what really caught my attention.
I went into MsKatt’s expecting a traditional country-style saloon show. Instead, I got a little bit of everything, with Koko moving comfortably between musical styles and decades.
There was never a “here we go again” moment. Just when you settled into one style, another song would come along and change the mood.
That kind of variety made it very easy to sit back, listen, dance and simply enjoy the show.
The Koko Chick Connection
Koko wasn’t doing it alone.
Joining her on stage were her dancers, the Koko Chicks, and these ladies definitely helped keep the energy turned up.
Debbie Heartsong, Marleen Bikcin, Rita Handrick, Sil, Qristal Serrao and Lauren Hennah showed up in the cutest matching dresses, complete with hot pink thigh highs, and delivered synchronized routines that matched the songs perfectly.
They weren’t just standing around looking pretty, either. The choreography helped make each number feel like part of an actual show, with the dancers changing up their routines to fit the music.
It was a fun little touch that added another layer to Koko’s performance.
A Saloon With Room to Party
MsKatt’s Saloon itself was also a pleasant surprise.
The adorable barn-themed venue was created by merging two Cory Edo Raleigh Wedding Barns, creating a surprisingly spacious area for the stage and dance floor.
That extra room came in handy because there were more than 30 people at today’s show, and nobody seemed to be fighting for elbow room.
There’s something I really enjoy about venues like this in Second Life. They don’t have to be massive or overly complicated to work. Give people a good dance floor, a fun atmosphere, a performer worth listening to, and enough room to move around, and you’ve got yourself a party.
MsKatt’s Saloon definitely delivered that.
More Than Just a Country Show
What I enjoyed most about Koko was the personality she brought along with the music.
She was warm, welcoming and kept the banter going throughout the show. It felt less like sitting in an audience watching a performer and more like hanging out with someone who just happened to be putting on a really good show.
And that variety really works for her.
If you’re expecting nothing but country because she’s performing in a saloon, you might want to rethink that. Koko can move from pop to Latin, rock and beyond without missing a beat.
That’s the kind of live music I enjoy in Second Life — something that keeps me entertained rather than having me constantly checking the clock.

Final Thoughts
I went to MsKatt’s expecting a little sawdust, some country music and maybe a two-step or two.
Instead, I got Britney, Conga, Rock ’n’ Roll, dancers in hot pink thigh highs, plenty of personality and a whole lot of musical variety.
Not a bad afternoon at all.
If you’re looking for somewhere fun to chill, dance, meet some people or catch a live performer who isn’t afraid to mix things up, you really can’t go wrong with MsKatt’s Saloon or Koko Incognito.
And sometimes the best Second Life discoveries are the ones you didn’t quite expect.
