LYRICS
The World Is Just a Figment of the Fool
The world is just a figment of the fool,
a dream stitched crooked through the seams of night,
where oceans swallow moons without a sound
and shadows borrow faces made of light.
We wander through the echo of a thought,
through painted skies that crumble in the rain,
calling it truth because our trembling hands
are far too weak to hold what can’t be named.
The fool builds kingdoms out of smoke and dust,
crowns made of glass balanced upon his pride,
believing every clock can master time
while stars decay in silence overhead.
And still we dance beneath imaginary suns,
laughing as the heavens pull apart,
writing our names upon dissolving walls
with fragile fingers and unsteady hearts.
Perhaps the trees are only memories,
perhaps the wind is nothing but a sigh
escaping from the lungs of sleeping gods
who dreamed us once and will forget by dawn.
Yet somewhere in the ruin of illusion,
between the cracks where falsehood starts to fade,
a quiet soul still searches for the truth
beneath the theater the fool has made.
For maybe the world was never solid stone,
never certain, never wholly real,
only a flicker in a restless mind,
a sorrow too enormous not to feel
