Pick You Up at 8? – Northern Express & Pour Up Winery

Ever had one of those moments when you finally plucked up the courage to ask the object of your desire out on a date and they said yes (because of course they did, you’re an absolute catch) and then you realised that you had no idea where to take them and what to do? Well never fear, Magenta is here!!

Today is a big day in my dating journey. I got to take out a bona fide SLebrity! I managed to convince award-winning rockstar (I promised him I’d add that in) Wolfie Moonshadow to let me take him out.

As this was a big day for me, and I was bound to ruin it with my nonsense if I tried too hard, I decided that dinner and some exploring was probably the least likely to land me in trouble. And what is better than dinner? Dinner on a train!

(Please forgive the photos of the train. They are not the best and absolutely do not do it justice, but it is a VERY small space to try and take pictures in because…you know…it’s a train.)

We started off with drinks in the bar carriage and spent some time chatting and getting to know each other. That turned into almost an hour and we nearly missed our dinner reservations! Luckily, they weren’t busy and we still got our table. (Spoiler alert: we were the only ones there, which is criminal with how cute this train is.) We tucked into some delicious…something…and in between we chatted some more.

Once we were completely full and had spent way too long talking about anything and everything, I insisted Wolfie come explore a winery with me!

This is Pour Up Winery & Vineyard and goodness me, is it gorgeous! I had to seriously edit down the number of pictures in this post because I could not stop taking them!

Of course, the first thing we did was play with the pottery wheels because what else does one do at a winery? As you can see, I am a natural talent at it. Wolfie, not so much. He was sad that these were only single-person wheels though. In his words, “I was hoping you were going to help me mush my clay.”

After I’d forced him to ruin his suit with clay, we explored a little and I could have spent hours here! There are so many little hidden spots, and we had the best time trying to find them. There are couples poses in all the furniture we tried, and I love that! And they aren’t all cuddles, which is fantastic too.

Once we’d done some drinking and some dancing, we went to visit the beach area, which is so cute. I am so impressed with the care and attention that has gone into this sim. It’s genuinely stunning, and I encourage you all to visit, even if you aren’t on a date and just want to explore and take some pretty pictures.

Of course, this is a winery, so we couldn’t leave without squishing some grapes! Luckily, I knew this was going to happen and planned my outfit accordingly (wine-coloured dress FTW). Wolfie wasn’t quite as prepared, but I did offer to pay for his dry cleaning like the good date I am.

I think my favourite thing about these dates so far is getting to know people better. It’s been really lovely and enlightening to just spend some actual time with someone, giving them my full attention and getting it back.

I think we can all agree that when we are just hanging out with our friends, we aren’t always giving them our full focus. We have other IMs going on, things in RL snagging our attention, so we give them what we can. It’s been a welcome change to actually get to know people and spend quality time with them, and I can’t wait to do it more.
