Love Kats II Is Back — And Opening Night Came Out Swinging!

There are some places in Second Life that you visit for the music.

There are others you visit for the atmosphere.

And then there are places that feel a little like coming home.

Love Kats II is one of those places for me.

Owned by my longtime friend Kat Chauveau-Anatine, Love Kats II has been part of the Second Life live music scene for many years. After taking a little summer vacation, the doors are open again, the music is cranked up, and Opening Night proved that Love Kats II is definitely back in business!

Opening Night Starts With a Bang

Hogan Baily led off the night with Into the Mystic as Kat danced with her “My Pack, Her Tribe” to the side of the stage. Mandy Merry, Jolie Serendipity, Pansy Snoring, Harley Wytchwood and Bundy Xue were also there as the evening got underway.

Then Hogan brought his SPITFIRE girls — Indun, Mandy and Nina — onto the stage.

If you’ve seen Hogan perform before, you already know the energy that followed.

It was a high-energy performance from start to finish, with Hogan interacting with the crowd and keeping everyone involved. The set included Night Moves, Elton John’s Guess Why They Call It the Blues, The Temptations’ My Girl and plenty more.

One of the night’s especially nice moments came when Hogan gave a shout-out to Moonshadow Venus, celebrating her 19th Rez Day, before performing Moon Dance as a special dedication to her.

That’s the kind of moment that makes live music in Second Life so much fun. It’s not just about standing around listening to a performer. It’s about the people, the friendships, the surprises and the memories that happen along the way.

And The Music Keeps Coming

Opening Night was only the beginning.

Love Kats II is jumping right back into its live music schedule with a great lineup:

Wednesday, September 9
Hogan Baily, Selene Skyfall and Djembe Dragonfire

Thursday, September 10
Acoustic Energy, Midnight and Max

Friday, September 11
Camme Carver, John Rocky and Sara Marie Philly

So if you missed Opening Night, there’s no excuse to stay away now!

More Than Just a Music Venue

One of the things I’ve always liked about Love Kats II is that it’s more than just a place to catch a live performer.

The venue sits beside an amazing waterfront setting, giving visitors a beautiful place to hang out, explore, take photos or simply relax while enjoying the music.

Kat has also always had a knack for changing things up. The concert area gets customized for themed events and the holidays, which means the scenery can change right along with the seasons.

And I’m already wondering what we’ll see next.

A spooky forest?

A creepy cemetery?

And eventually, a winter wonderland?

Knowing Kat, I’m sure we’ll see something fun.

Welcome Back, Love Kats II!

I’ve known Kat for a very long time, and it’s always good to see an old friend back doing what she loves.

Love Kats II has been around for years, and its history is tied closely to the live music community in Second Life. What started back in 2009 with one live performance a week eventually grew into a full-time live entertainment destination.

After a summer vacation, it’s great to see the lights back on.

The music is playing.

The waterfront is waiting.

And Kat is ready to entertain.

If Opening Night was any indication, Love Kats II has plenty of good times ahead.

Welcome back, Kat — and welcome back, Love Kats II!

Come for the music. Stay for the friends. And who knows? You might just find yourself dancing before the night is over.
